Product details

Krupnik Spicy Honey is a Polish spiced honey vodka liqueur from Krupnik's Old Liqueur line, combining natural honey with warming spices and a delicate heat, at 32% ABV in a 50cl bottle. On Polish labels it is Pikantny Miód. The honey aroma is intense, but baking spice and a soft peppery tingle give it more depth than a simple sweet liqueur. It suits anyone who likes ginger biscuits, mulled drinks and honey with a little bite, and it fits bonfire evenings, frosty weekends and Christmas gatherings.

Krupnik Spicy Honey tasting notes

  • Nose: Dark honey, clove, ginger and a pinch of black pepper.
  • Palate: Sweet honey up front, followed by cinnamon, ginger and a mild chilli-like warmth.
  • Finish: Spicy and lingering, with honey returning at the end.

How to drink Krupnik Spicy Honey

Serve it chilled in a small glass, or over ice with a slice of orange. It pairs with blue cheese, roast duck, smoked sausage and spiced biscuits, and it brings warmth to a plate of Polish zakąski. Bonfire Night, a Christmas market trip or a winter dinner with friends all suit it.

What to mix with Krupnik Spicy Honey

  • Spicy Honey Ginger: build 40 ml over plenty of ice in a highball, add 120 ml ginger ale and squeeze in a wedge of lemon.
  • Spiced Apple Warmer: heat 150 ml cloudy apple juice until steaming, pour it into a heatproof glass and stir in 40 ml with a cinnamon stick.

How it compares

Compared with Krupnik Old Liqueur Honey, the original honey liqueur at 38%, it is lower in alcohol and noticeably spicier. Krupnik Raspberry Honey, the other 32% edition, trades the spice for raspberry fruit. Anyone who likes chocolate with a hint of heat should also try the creamy Krupnik Chocolate with Chili.

Good to know

As a spiced honey liqueur, it carries on the krupnik tradition of honey and spice that gave the brand its name. The Krupnik Spicy Honey 50cl bottle is a good winter gift alongside a jar of honey or a box of gingerbread. Wodka Company dispatches Krupnik Spicy Honey from London N15 to anywhere in the UK.

Po polsku

Miód i korzenne przyprawy z lekką pikantnością tworzą Krupnik Pikantny Miód (Spicy Honey) z linii Old Liqueur. Można go podać schłodzonego w małym kieliszku albo zimą podgrzać 40 ml z gorącym sokiem jabłkowym. Pasuje do sera pleśniowego, pieczonej kaczki i korzennych ciastek.

Frequently asked questions

Is Krupnik Spicy Honey hot?

No, not in a fiery way. Krupnik Spicy Honey has a soft, peppery tingle and warming notes of clove, ginger and cinnamon, while sweet honey stays in the lead. The spice lingers on the finish, giving more depth than a plain honey liqueur.

What mixer goes with Krupnik Spicy Honey?

Ginger ale suits Krupnik Spicy Honey best, because it picks up the ginger and clove; build it over ice in a highball at about one part liqueur to three parts mixer, with a wedge of lemon. In winter, warm Krupnik Spicy Honey gently with hot apple juice instead.

What food goes with Krupnik Spicy Honey?

Krupnik Spicy Honey pairs with blue cheese, roast duck and spiced biscuits such as Polish pierniki (gingerbread), where sweetness and spice echo each other. Serve it chilled in a small glass.
