Product details

Lubelska Orange is a Polish orange vodka liqueur from Lubelska, pairing vodka with fresh orange flavour at 30% ABV in a 50cl bottle. In Polish it goes by Pomarańczówka. It pours a vivid orange colour, and a subtle hint of mango behind the citrus gives it a softer, rounder character than a straight orange. This Polish liqueur is a flexible bottle to keep at home, good chilled after dinner, in a simple highball and in the kitchen.

Lubelska Orange: nose, palate and finish

  • Nose: Fresh orange zest, orange juice and a faint tropical mango note.
  • Palate: Sweet and citrusy, with juicy orange and a light peel bitterness.
  • Finish: Bright and fruity, fading on marmalade.

How to drink Lubelska Orange

Serve it chilled in a shot glass or over ice with a twist of peel. It also works as an orange liqueur for baking: brush it over a sponge, add it to a chocolate cake batter or stir it into a fruit salad. At the table it pairs with roast duck, gingerbread (piernik) and dark chocolate, which makes it a welcome bottle over the Christmas season.

Cocktails with Lubelska Orange

  • Orange Tonic: pour 50 ml over ice in a highball, top with 150 ml tonic water and garnish with an orange wheel.
  • Polish Sidecar: shake 30 ml Lubelska Orange, 30 ml brandy and 15 ml lemon juice with ice, then strain into a chilled coupe.
  • Orange Hot Chocolate: stir 30 ml Lubelska Orange into 200 ml hot chocolate and top with grated orange zest.

How it compares

Lubelska Orange is sweeter and rounder than Lubelska Grapefruit, which leans bittersweet and pithy, and much fruitier than the herbal Lubelska Chill Spritz. For bitter orange with herbs and spice, Żołądkowa Gorzka Traditional is a very different drink: amber, bitter-sweet and herbal rather than juicy.

Good to know

Lubelska is a brand of Stock Polska. Keep the Lubelska Orange 50cl bottle in the fridge after opening if you use it mostly for chilled shots. Wodka Company delivers Lubelska Orange across the UK, so it is easy to add to an order of other Polish liqueurs.

Frequently asked questions

Can you use Lubelska Orange instead of triple sec?

Yes, Lubelska Orange can replace triple sec in simple cocktails such as a Cosmopolitan or a Margarita-style drink. Lubelska Orange tastes juicier and less dry than a classic triple sec, so the result is softer and fruitier.

Does Lubelska Orange taste of mango?

Yes, faintly: behind the fresh orange, Lubelska Orange carries a light tropical mango note that softens the citrus. Orange still leads, with juicy fruit, a little peel bitterness and a marmalade finish.

Can you cook with Lubelska Orange?

Yes, Lubelska Orange works like any orange liqueur in the kitchen. Add a splash to a crêpe Suzette-style sauce of butter, sugar and orange juice, soak the sponge for a trifle, or fold a little into whipped cream.
